For all the hoopla, the great stupidity is that the values of Christianity and Islam is not very different. They are both Abrahamic religions and come from the same root.

The same right wing Christian from Alabama that rails against the "terrorists" would probably actually get along much better with a conservative Muslim from Saudi Arabia than a Liberal from Berkeley. They would both be against abortion, hate gays, worship god, and believe in family values.

It's always funny how politics turns would be soulmates into enemies.

Typical liberal myths. Islam and Christianity may have come from the same root, but they are very different animals. At least in Christianity, you don't have people blowing themselves up to get 72 virgins in heaven. In Christianity, you don't enslave women and force them to live as a shadow behind sheets their whole lives. In Christianity, you don't kill your sons or daughters because they marry someone of a different religion.

Christianity has answered a lot of its own demons through the years. Islam hasn't.

Conservative Christians and Muslims are pretty much the same. Yes, I am struck with hilarity when I see right wing nutjobs denouncing Islam.
