Excellent book. It's about a Sudanese Dinka man's experience as a child slave, and his eventual escape and journey to America. Fascinating story. You really get some excellent first person accounts as to how it felt like to be a slave, to be dehumanized and all the personal struggles that went along with it. I'm going to try to find out when he has speaking arrangements, I'd like to see him in person.

Africans been enslaving one another for time immemorial. Europeans did it for about a couple hundred years, but we get all the shit for it. Africans are still doing it to each other today!

I've actually skimmed through that book. What was fascinating about it was the insight it gave you into the mind of a person who was going through a process of dehumanization, and their internal struggle to maintain their identity and yearning for freedom. Very powerful story.
