Unfortunately the times we live in actually mean that the opposite is happening. In the future Americans will be on average poorer. Due to high oil price and rising food prices, the average American will have less spending power in the future. However this may not be necessarily a bad thing. Thrift and frugality are attributes our ancestors built this country on.
