How can you describe getting 30% or more of your hard earned money stolen by the government as 'freedom'?

Freedom is having the ability to keep most of what you earn. To not have government watching over your shoulder and telling you how to think, how to live your life. Freedom is not having to support lazy and parasitic people who take advantage of your work ethic in order to live on government dole.

Nosense. Freedom is not having to worry about getting health care when you need it; freedom is not having to worry about your children's education. Yes, taxes are needed to ensure freedom. Without taxes, no infrastructure, no education, no health care for all. Without taxes there is no freedom. And yes, freedom is having to support the poor and weak. If you honestly beleive that all those who are poor are poor because they are lazy you are naive and in need to an education.

We live in a society. A society needs to be maintained through contributions from its members (taxes). Without society and government there is anarchy & social darwinism; and under those circumstances no one is free!

Can you please step out of your Liberal Ivory Tower for once and take a trip to any low income neighborhood? If you did, you'd find that you couldn't even shake a stick at all the deadbeats and shiftless good for nothings that abound in those hellholes. America is a land of grand opportunity. It's the only country where people can arrive with nothing and build a fortune in one generation. There is no other country where you can do that. You certainly can't do that in Europe because of all the stifling measures and taxes they've put up to kill small businesses.

Since America promises so much opportunity, most of the poor in this country are that way because they haven't exerted themselves. Most are lazy and unambitious, so they turn to drugs and other temptations. If those lazy motherfuckers in the ghetto decided to work and get an education instead, they'd be joining the middle class in no time. But they'd rather live on food stamps and welfare checks, then bitch about racism.

No, I don't want my hard earned dollars going to these low lives. If you Liberals would stop shoving your hands into my pockets to hand over my money to these losers, then perhaps, we can all enjoy the true possibilities of freedom that this country promises.

This is exactly why I cannot stand conservatives. I cannot stand their pompous and selfish attitudes.

Does it not occur to them that perhaps.... just perhaps... a society should be judged by the performance of its weakest member rather than by its strongest? We live in a society, we do not exist alone as a seperate entity. We are all linked together in this world, whether we like it or not.

Being part of a society means that each one of us has a responsibility. You can either fulfill that responsibility and make this world a better place for everyone of us, or act like a pompous selfish prick, and then we will have a society where we cannot trust each other and cannot rely on each other.

A society where the strong helps the weak, where the rich helps the poor, is one where justice and the belief in fairness prevails. It is a society that is healthy because its individuals believe in goodness and moral values. It is also healthier for the simple fact that the weakest members of society can live in security, and with this security, they can actually have an opportunity to improve themselves.

We all have a little part to play in this world. I don't think who you are, or how much you make, but we must not forget that we are all interrelated and share this world together.
