Palin Supporter of Alaskan IndependencePosted by Bacchus in Untagged |
BREAKING NEWS.
I'm not talking about Palin's teenage daughter but the fact that before Palin ran for mayor of Wassilla, she was an active member of the fringe Alaskan independence party which argued for Alaska to secede from the United States and form an independent nation. She only entered the Republican party to guarantee herself a real shot at winning political office.

Didn't McCain send out a research team to gopher out these details before selecting this woman as his VP? How much bigger of a Homer Simpson moment can you get, I am sure in the next few days when this news breaks out, McCain will have plenty of DOH moments.
Republicans have constantly attacked Obama as unpatriotic, and have harped all over Michelle's comment about not being 'proud'. Now what do they have to say for themselves when their own VP pick advocated for the secession of her own state from the United States? This is not a Country First kind of lady, this is an ALASKA FIRST, AMERICA LAST Vice President we are talking about. This makes the entire hoopla around Jeremiah Wright look like a playground scuffle.
I don't think this is a person that most Americans can relate to. Not only is she extremely provincial, but she obviously is not patriotic. This is a woman who is an opportunistic social climber where patriotism is about as thick as her resume.
Also, what are we to think of a potential PRESIDENT whose worldview is so skewed and small that it is centered around a state of less than 700,000 people? Is this really a person who can understand how to navigate through the perilous and complex politics and relations in regions such as the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America? This is a person who has only made one trip abroad and that was to visit Alaskan troops in Kuwait. She has absolutely no understanding of other cultures, other nations, and possibly not even of her own country in the lower 48 states. Apparently that has never been important to her since Alaska is obviously the only priority in her mind.
All I have to say is that the McCain straight talk express has hit a brick wall. He should dump her now, and he probably realizes this, but whether he dumps her or keeps her, the ride is over.
Possibly only a series of disasters from the Republicans could have opened the field for our first African American president, and that's exactly what has happened. Congratulations Obama, McCain just handed you the presidency.
