OBAMA'S OWN RAINBOW COALITION
. . . Barack Hussein Obama's (BHO) on 2/28/08 proudly posted an 'open letter' on his blog 'addressed' to all Lesbians, Homosexuals, Bisexuals, Transgendered and Transvestites (LHBT). He makes significant promises to this allegedly‘discriminated' against, non-heterosexual 1% of the population. He equates ‘discrimination' against the LHBT crowd as equal to that endured by blacks, women, the aged and the disabled. This in itself insults those who truly have suffered discrimination. The LHBT moneyed minority, truth be told, is already very highly influential beyond their numbers.
I have marked in small case and bold the actual text found on BHO's blog, which introduces his ‘open letter' as well as the letter itself along with my bracketed comments. Because I find the word "g*y" offensive I will substitute the word "homosexual" in its place.

Empty suit, hollow, shallow, inexperienced, B-rated all describe Barack Hussein Obama. In fact, the two Democrats are tried and true socialists and really don’t want to reveal their true plans for America. If Americans knew the depth of their destructiveness and their hatred for traditional American principles and values they would walk away from them in a heartbeat. However, with the complicit media on their side not asking them the necessary difficult questions, and with their slick and well-financed campaign ads, they are able to avoid of the real substantive issues – social, economic and national defense.
The best the Republican Party can do is John McCain? He is as sorry a candidate as the two Dems. Does he think America has forgotten Amnesty, Campaign Finance Reform, the compromise on the judges with the Democrats, his support for embryonic stem cell research?

Well, things are what they are. We need to make the best choice from what we got. Some think that we should just let the Dems win, then things will be so screwed up that there will not be another Dem in the White House for 100 years. Things are so bad right now because of an economic liberal leaning Bush and a RINO congress for most of his term, that I don't think we could recover anytime soon.
The last time pure socialism was tried was Jimmy Carter, and we got 21% prime rate (That was the mother of all modern housing slumps, but you only hear about how bad this one is.)14% inflation and the modern installment of Islamo-Facism plus a government caused oil shortage. Some will say that this particular shortage was caused by OPEC, as in 1973, but there was plenty of oil. We just lost Iranian oil which was only about 5% of our imports at the time. Carter used it as an excuse to take control of the supply and then sent it to the wrong geographic areas. I don't want to live through that again.

I agree with your post. In the end I look for Rodham-Clinton and Obama to kiss and make up a Rodham-Clinton-Obama ticket. Rodham-Clinton will hold something over Obama that will make him cow-tow to her . . .
Conservatives best hope will be to elect a strong Congress to neutralize whoever is elected President, because quite frankly the choice is indistinguishable between the Dem and the GOP candidate.

Conservatives and all those that believe in American values, virtue must concentrate on electing the very best Congress to counteract the effects of the President, whoever he or she may be. With the approval ratings that Congress has we should be able to evict many Representatives and a few Senators and return more Conservatives to Congress. McCain, in my eyes is a Democrat, pure and simple. I will not vote Dem or GOP for President this year.

For the reasons I just wrote to Center, I think both Obama and Rodham Clkinton are very much socialists.
As far as the benefits of our current form of government, the democratic republic, liberals will take full advantage of the benefits of the system for their own self aggrandizement. While doing so, they will be putting down and even working to destroy the system that made them wealthy. Look at Al Gore, he's a charlatan pushing his global warming propaganda increasing his personal wealth while bankrupting businesses as well as our nation urging us to submit to the foolish and flawed Kyoto Treaty.

Homosexuals already have all the rights everyone else has. What they want are special protections, special privileges, special rights. Why in the world should a crime against a homosexual who is the victim of any crime be be considered more severe than the same crime against a feeble grandmother or a innocent 5 year-old child? The laws are on the books that cover all Americans already. No one can judge the thoughts and intentions of what motivates an individual criminal. Hate crimes are actually "thought crimes". This is big brother-big sister government moving in a direction that again it has no business entering . . .
Hate crime laws are not only totally unnecessary they are too costly and will further gum up our court system. The only people who benefit from hate crimes are trial lawyers and advocates for advancing the radical homosexual agenda . .

Although I agree that the punishment for most crimes should be much harsher than they are today. At the same time, there should also be more efforts to address the social issues that create these crimes as well. People are not born criminals.
I favor the carrot and stick approach. Punish the criminals hard, which is why I avidly support the death penalty, but also work hard to prevent the creation of new criminals.

Thanks for your comments. You ignited some strong feelings in me about the subjects you raise.
You argue, “. . . “If gays are attacked simply because of the fact that they are gay, it should be ruled a hate crime.” I vehemently disagree. Who, my friend, can make such an assessment? Who can determine the real motivation in a person’s heart? There is only one Omniscient being in the universe and most courts and most judges do not recognize Him. If the current laws are sufficient enough to cover elderly woman being assault or a 6 year-old girl being molested, why in the world should we make provisions for and in essence reward immoral, unnatural, unhealthy, abnormal, destructive behavior?
Typical liberals and socialists frown on the death penalty because it is “inhumane” but at the same time think nothing of murdering millions of INNOCENT babies year after year. Where is the justice in that? I certain favor the death penalty as well. Only the appeals process should be shortened, streamlined to insure swift justice, that is my only real problem with the death penalty as it is administered today.
Man is born depraved, so I disagree with your assertion that “People are not born criminals.” They are born with the proclivity to do wrong. When you take children out of the natural family environment of a married mother and a married father, more times than not this breeds criminal. Kids without proper love and guidance turn to gangs, peers and the most corrupt and divisive elements of society in their unchecked rebellion.
What is really disconcerting is the fact that liberal activist, agenda-driven judges would oppose successful faith-based prison programs that show recidivism rates much more favorable than secular-based programs. They did this in Iowa basing it on the non-existent and false “separation of church and state” idea. You want real prevention here is a place to start, encourage, not discourage faith-based programs in prisons.
Our government schools breed criminals. Ever since they “banned” God and Christianity from our schools they have become training camps for all sorts of criminal behavior. Moral relativism sears and corrupts our children’s consciences. They cannot tell right from wrong. Our deviant media moguls produce movies and video games that glorify violence and promiscuity. You wonder way crime is on the rise? We have lost our moral core values. Virtue is shunned in favor of the condom.
